Andrea N. Moore
President

Andrea Norvice Moore became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® Lambda Zeta Chapter in the Spring of 1988, on the campus of American University where she received a BA in Performing Arts. Andrea  took her talents abroad to Milan, Italy where she lived for nearly twenty years. Traveled extensively, modeled, danced, worked in television, promoted events, and  owned her own restaurant and club before returning home to Columbia, Maryland, in 2006.  

In 2015, Andrea decided to continue her professional development and received her MS in Human  Resource Management from Walden University, along with two graduate certifications in Government Management and Conflict Management and Negotiation. Currently, Andrea is the Executive Assistant to the Acting Commissioner of the Social Security Administration. In this role, she assists the Commissioner with juggling the many day-to-day  demands that come with running one of the largest federal government agencies in the nation. 

As the President of the Pearl Foundation, Incorporated of Alpha Kappa  Alpha Sorority, Inc. ® Iota Lambda Omega Chapter of Howard County her tireless community service work and leadership, increased scholarships, grants, fundraising  opportunities, and community donations. Through her servant leadership, she has inspired the  membership to donate generously to the Foundation, resulting in a 250% increase during her tenure. Andrea charitable events include: Youth Leadership Summit, 20 Pearls in a Glamorous World, Pearls for Scholars, All White Affair, Dazzlin Denim, Summer Slam Basketball, Winter Takeover and other fundraising efforts to give back to the community.

Andrea’s work was recognized by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, with the Nellie Quander  Leadership Award at the 2021 North Atlantic Regional Conference. She also received the  Citizen of the Year Award from Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, Tau Pi Chapter and the Women’s Giving Circle of Howard County, Maryland for her dedication to the community. She has  served on the Divine 9 Board for Howard County Executive, Dr. Calvin Ball, and on the University  of Maryland Baltimore Campus Undergraduate Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Lambda Phi Chapter Graduate Advisory Council. Recently, Andrea was selected to serve on the Alumni Board for The American University in Washington DC.

While living in Italy, Andrea was interviewed by Italian Cosmopolitan magazine. Andrea was asked  where she saw herself twenty years from now. She responded, “back home in Columbia, Maryland, sharing all of my vast experiences abroad while serving my community.” Having the  opportunity to lead as the Pearl Foundation president is an extremely fulfilling experience. Through all of her efforts, including being a mother and wife, Andrea passionately provides Service  to all Mankind.
